Lovely trip. Wonderful gentleman talked about the trams history
BEAUTIFULLY RESTORED TRAMS THAT WERE ONCE REGULAR PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN BALLARATThe trams now run only on a short track at the Botanical Gardens at Lake Wendouree but it's well worth a visit. $5 for adults and discount for a family ticket for a pleasant trip on the tram. The museum is worth checking out too.
Interesting place to see old trains; if you are passing through Ballarat it is worth taking a break and visit the museum.
First of all, we were so lucky to find the museum open at 7 pm. Secondly, 74 years old volunteer engineer gave us a tour and he was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Thank you SIR for accommodating us so late, we will remember you and museum.
Highly recommended, the museum members were very informative and during the tram ride gave us a detailed description of how trams worked. This organisation definitely deserves better financial support from the government to preserve our heritage. Thanks guys for a fabulous time at your museum.
