Amazing food, wonderful, attentive service, gorgeous, welcoming atmosphere: this has instantly become a regular for me. Well worth the lunch time drive from Daylesford. I hope to be coming at least once a fortnight.
My partner and I went to Caf Merkama for dinner. It was delicious food. He recommended the goat, and it was very tender and tasty and not at all what I expected. The food was well worth the money. The man there does it all on his own and it was a little busy but we were more then happy to wait for him and given he does this alone he was very efficient, we didn't have to wait long. It isn't your typical going out for dinner experience however that's what makes it so worth it!.
I had a great time here. It was a bit difficult to find, but once we found it I was very pleased. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was great. It would have been great to have a some music, but that's OK. We were offered tea (complimentary according to custom) and we're given great tips on how to eat the authentic food. We ordered the tasting dish and every bit was delicious, however for such a large group we should have ordered two as I was still a bit hungry at the end. Still-the food was amazing.
