I have always enjoyed all Beechworth Bakeries, however today at entering the Ballarat premises at 2.30pm on a Sunday, we were totally disgusted. There wasn't that many customers in store, however every single table was loaded with dirty plates, cutlery, and crumbs and uneaten food. We searched for a clean table, but couldn't find one, so brushed some dirty dishes aside to make room for ourselves. It was obvious many others had done the same before us.Then on ordering some food: the display shelves were mostly empty. We ended up with some very ordinary ham & salad sandwiches, and chocolate Eclair with 'fake' cream.We won't be entering that premises again.
Delicious as always. We had both eat in morning tea and got a take away lunch to have at Sovrign Hill. Expect to pay around 4-6$ per person. Highly recommend the Ned Kelly pie, Barvarian Dessert, Bush Banger take away sandwich and the tasty Savory Scones.
My pops favourite place. Always find him there when we visit Ballarat. The staff are lovely and you get the real local feel as they remember you after a few visits. Good pies
Always great! Ballarat store has never been bad.... It's consistently great! Coffee and Gluten free Banana bread....Oooh so yum!
As much as I love to swing by into a country bakery I will say I was quite disappointed at my experience at the Beechworth Bakery. There was a lack of professionalism and sanitation this was due to service my family and i received. We were also charged extra for pastries we did not purchase which of course was a headache to fix up. I also found upon entry that there were no if any clean tables which resulted of course in moving used plates and cups myself as there didnt seem to be any staff available. Unfortunately I shall not be visiting again.
